Dr Ekaterina Strounina is a Solid State NMR facility manager in the Centre for Advanced Imaging. She has been working in UQ since 2002, specializing in high-field MRI applications and solid-state NMR spectroscopy.

Research Interests

  • Functionalised silica nanoparticles
  • Polymeric biomaterials
  • Materials for ecoengineering
  • Soils, coal and biochar characterization
  • Novel energy storage materials
  • Perovskite characterization
  • Zeolites and clay-related materials characterization

Research Impacts

Dr Strounina has extensive experience in characterization of a wide variety of organic, inorganic and hybrid materials. She had made a significant contribution to the functionalised mesoporous silica development, as well as to research in ecological engineering, battery materials and novel biopolymer-based materials.
