Improving the outcome of patients with invasive lobular carcinoma of the breast (2010–2012)

Abstract:
Invasive lobular carcinoma is a common type of breast cancer with a poor long term survival. There is variability in the characteristics of these tumours and in the survival term of patients meaning some do well whilst others die from their disease. It is difficult to predict this diversity and so currently most patients are treated in the same way. We will analyse two large sets of lobular tumours to identify new methods for predicting the survival of patients and treating the disease.
