Overview

Sarangan is a Psychiatry Registrar at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital (RBWH) and is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland. He was awarded his MBBS from James Cook University, and graduated from the same institution in 2020 with a MPH. He worked as a Resident Medical Officer at RBWH prior to commencing psychiatry training. Sarangan is currently working towards a PhD at UQ and is investigating the relationship between stress and mental illness in combat-exposed veterans. Sarangan intends to pursue a career as an academic psychiatrist, with a combined clinical and research load. His interests include biological psychiatry, addiction and the links between stress and mental illness in vulnerable and minority populations
