Overview

Patricio is a physiotherapist who is a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Sensorimotor Performance and at the Centre of Clinical Research Excellence in Spinal Pain, Injury & Health. During his Masters, he focused on understanding individual leg muscle contributions to the cost of walking. During his doctoral studies, he studied the neuromechanical factors underlying exercise-induced muscle damage in the human gastrocnemius muscle. His current research focuses on understanding the structural and neural determinants of stress and strain in human muscle and on exploring new technologies to quantify muscle composition from ultrasound images.
