Transforming Wastewater treatment in regional Australia (CRC-P administered by Queensland Urban Utilities) (2019–2023)

Abstract:
This CRC-P will develop and demonstrate low-cost technology to transform inefficient wastewater treatment ponds into productive autonomous environmental assets. The unique solution has a strong market potential to retrofit regional treatment plant across Australia and worldwide, while reducing odour and greenhouse gas emissions. Controlled production of recycled water and nutrient-rich biosolids will benefit regional communities with new products suitable for agricultural applications. Novel robust sensors and data analytics will be at the heart of the process to revolutionise regional treatment plant control and operation.
