Enabling Indigenous school attendance by supporting girls' health and hygiene in remote communities (2018)

Abstract:
This project responds to approaches from Indigenous women¿s organisations to identify the financial, knowledge and cultural barriers to menstrual hygiene management (MHM) in remote communities. Anecdotal evidence indicates that these affect attendance at school, work and socially. By working in collaboration, this research will identify and test strategic solutions, engage with policymakers, and collate baseline data for an NHMRC Partnerships grant application.
