Predation impacts and responses by prey species to feral cats (2017–2021)

Abstract:
This project will assess the impact and response of example prey populations to feral cat predation. This project will investigate predation impacts on and responses by select prey species and populations, aspects of feral cat predatory behaviour and prey behaviour. This study by the University of Queensland forms part of a larger project delivered by collaborators and funders including the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries to assess feral cat control techniques. The outcomes of this work will further assist in determining appropriate strategies for implementing feral cat management to assist prey species recovery.
