Investigating the role of cancer stem cells in canine prostate cancer as a new therapeutic target (2015–2017)

Abstract:
Associate Professor Palmieri's project addresses a significant cancer in dogs where the current treatment options are few and the outcome is dismal. The project hypothesis, that targeting cancer stem cells rather than differentiated bulk cancer cells, if proven successful, has immense implications for the development of new therapies.
