Heteronuclear parallel imaging and spectroscopy for Magnetic Resonance (2013–2016)

Abstract:
This project will contribute to the development of new heteronuclear Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) systems that will significantly expand the functional information bandwidth, thus allowing improved interrogation of biological processes in living tissue. This will be achieved through innovative radiofrequency (RF) coil technology, which for the first time, will be able to image more nuclei in parallel with higher temporal resolution and image quality compared to existing systems. The ability to measure a larger spectrum of biological processes will lead to the broadening of existing, and opening up of new, avenues in research of cancer, chronic disease and human physiology.
