National in-situ transmission electron microscope facilities (2012–2013)

Abstract:
This proposal seeks to establish national complementary transmission electron microscopy capabilities for in-situ measurement of electrical and mechanical properties and in-situ determination of material behaviours under precisely applied electrical currents, voltage and forces, or accurately controlled temperatures. The proposed in-situ facilities will form a comprehensive characterisation tool underpinning the work of excellent researchers in advanced and nanoscaled materials and facilitate strategic collaborations between Australian researchers.
