The future of palaeoclimate and archaeological research in Australia: next generation instrumentation for chronology and environmental reconstruction (2009)
- Abstract:
- The phenomenon of global climate change has brought new urgency to studies of past climate variation and ecosystem responses, and led to a rapid proliferation of research in these areas. Access to state-of-the-art radiometric dating is central to all of these studies but the existing facilities are now unable to cope with rapidly increasing demand. This proposal seeks to guarantee availability of world-class analytical technologies for the Australian research community, to greatly streamline access, and foster innovative new capabilities for future palaeoclimate, palaeoenvironmental, and archaeological research.
