Organic Solar Cell Alliance (OSCA) (2009–2013)

Abstract:
Ensuring clean energy supplies for the future and arresting global warming is our generation's responsibility. It is a scientific fact that mankind's demand for fossil fuels is the primary cause of the dramatic changes in our climate. Renewable energy technologies are key to solving this problem. Solar cells are widely viewed as a lead renewable technology but its uptake has been hampered by the high cost of commercially available technologies. Our project aims to improve the application of solar technologies by developing the next generation of low cost solar cells based upon cheap, environmentally friendly organic materials.
